“Megitsune” by Babymetal blasts through the venue speakers and the fans let loose a boo for Haruka Saito, better known as Black Haruka. Moments pass, and she stepped through the curtain and into the aisle, accompanied by her mother and manager, Sumie Saito. She came dressed in her ring gear, wearing a beautiful white and red robe and carrying a kendo stick in her hands.
The Saitos made their way down to the ring, taking their time as they moved before stopping in the middle of their walk to regard the fans for a few brief moments before Haruka and Sumie passed them without saying a word.
Slowly, Haruka walked over to the ring steps, and just as slowly did she climb up to the ring apron and slip through the ropes, swinging her kendo stick in the air as soon as she was in the ring.
Sumie followed her daughter as soon as Haruka stepped into the centre of the ring. The younger Saito rested her kendo stick against her shoulders and she stared at the crowd as they booed her on with a smirk on her face. Moments later, and Haruka tossed the stick out of the ring and moved over to a corner with her mother/manager, removing her jacket as she waited for the match to start.

Black Haruka is more than just a scary moniker given to a young joshi as a ring name. Black Haruka is a moniker that belongs to a woman who was vicious and black hearted in the ring, much like her mother was. And that is putting it lightly.
Black Haruka, born Haruka Saito, is the middle of five children and eldest daughter of Sumie Saito, one half of the infamous Japanese tag team the Saito Sisters who along with her twin Emi terrorised joshi puroresu with their smashmouth style of wrestling. Not to mention her familial connections to the Saint family of wrestlers from the United States, a member of which is Sara Saint or Saint Saito as she is known among wrestling fans, Haruka's cousin.
For as long as she could remember, Haruka had always wanted to fight, be it in the school yard or some back alley or inside of a ring, it didn't matter so long as she was pounding somebody's face in. Fortunately for her, she was also one of the many scions of a truly massive wrestling legacy.
Trained by her mother and two older brothers and making her big debut at the age of fourteen, Haruka eventually established a reputation for herself among the Japanese independent circuit as a brutal and vicious opponent, one who wouldn't think twice about humiliating her opponents or even beating them half to death with the kendo stick she carried to every match. In the ring, it was clear to the older puroresu fans that Haruka Saito was an exact case of 'like mother, like daughter,' for she was just as black hearted as Sumie Saito was over twenty years ago.
In mid-September, however, young Haruka's violent tendencies came back to bite her. In one particular bout, Haruka humiliated her opponent before beating her senseless with her kendo stick while she was down, to the point where the girl had to be sent to the hospital.
Even for her and her penchant for violence, the act was beyond even her usual, and unfortunately for Haruka, said opponent was also the promoter's daughter and was planned to be pushed into becoming the promotion's newest ace. The reasons why she was so brutal to the girl she beat were known only to her, and she refused to explain her actions but the act got Haruka fired from the promotion she worked for. Fortunately for her, her mother Sumie knew a man who knew a man, and on the condition that she be accompanied by Sumie to make sure her daughter doesn't give into another outburst like the one that got her fired in the first place, it wasn't long before she was welcomed into the Seishin roster.
