The scene opens inside the kitchen of Natalie's home in Cardiff. The back door is open, by which Natalie is stood, gazing out into the back garden; Natalie is wearing a pair of black leggings and a grey hoodie.
Continuing to watch the falling rain, Natalie begins to speak.
'Despite the defeat I suffered last week, my mood is not as miserable as this weather. Losing to Merlot Ayano is nothing to be ashamed of - especially as in seven days' time, she could become the Champion of Seishin. Instead of dwelling on what I did wrong, I'm going to learn from that loss, and do better in my next match: a five woman battle royal.'
Natalie turns around, to face the camera.
'My debut in Seishin came in another battle royal; back then, I won after outlasting six other women, so now, when I only have four opponents, I should be able to win again, without much difficulty, right?'
Natalie smiles.
‘If only it was that simple.'
Natalie closes the door behind her, before taking a step towards the camera.
'I'm used to having a strength advantage over anyone I set foot in the ring with, but that's not going to be the case next week. The only one I may be able to overpower is Kai Shizuka, but she showed exactly what she is capable of last week, when she beat Kotone Wakahisa - another one of my opponents in the battle royal; if I am to win this match, I'm going to need more than just power.'
Natalie walks over to the kitchen table.
‘What do you do, when the thing you're usually able to rely on, isn't going to be as big a weapon as it usually is? You work harder - you work upon other aspects of your skills. And fortunately for me, I have a friend - another wrestler, named Simon - who is used to being the smallest in the ring. During his career, he’s beaten men that stood over a foot taller than him, and so come seven days from now, when I'm in the ring with the likes of Valkyrie - who is seven inches taller than me - I'm confident that, with Simon's assistance, I'll have sufficient tools at my disposal, to make up for my size disadvantage.'
Natalie leans on a chair.
'The one opponent in the battle royal I haven't named yet, is the only one that has been an opponent of mine previously: Shura. At the start of this month, we were on opposing sides in a ten woman elimination tag team match. We only clashed briefly, but it was long enough for me to get a sense of what she is about, and I'm now looking forward to locking horns with her again.'
She then stands up straight.
‘Shura, Kai, Kotone, Valkyrie; this match promises to be a real battle - and I promise each of you, that I'm up for the fight.'
As Natalie stares at the camera, the scene fades to black.
