Destiny: Seishin Rising was just upon the horizon, and it was on course to be the largest show in company history. For months, the promotion had held a tournament in order to determine three worthy challengers to compete to become the first Champion of Seishin.
In the first round, Merlot was tasked with taking on Azola, Jonna Tarzana’s tag team partner. For a while, she angry about her lose to Shura; however, that angry transformed into determination as she went into the first round―Merlot walked away the victor.
When the semi-finals rolled around, the format of the tournament was changed. It was announced that the rest of the tournament would be completed under triple threat rules. That round, she needed to defeat eNIGMA and Valkyrie. Valkyrie was the largest and strongest fighter in the whole shebang; eNIGMA was said to be the most savage. Not to be deterred, Merlot prepared for battle and walked into that match with no fear―she walked away the victor.
Now, only two people stood in her way of gold―Jacqui and Junko.
“Raven-chan, how do I look?” Merlot asked as she turned around and faced her girlfriend.
Merlot’s normal attire was purple variant kickpads, along with matching trunks and Adidas sports bra. However, because this was a special occasion, she decided that she would switch things up a bit.
She got in contact with the Omega Academy, in order to get some new gear made. The organization’s seamstress crafted her a swanky new pair of black kickpads, which her inspired by Satio’s cousin. After those were completed, she found a place in Vegas to get her trunks made. They were black like the kickpads, but had AYANO written in white grunge font across her left hip and backside. Her top was custom made sports bra from Adidas; it had the words SILENT RAIN screen-printed on the front with a similar white grunge text as the trunks.
On top of everything, Merlot wore an all white ring jacket.
Raven had been sitting on the bed, playing around with her iPad. She sat it on the bed as she gazed at Merlot. A wide smile came to her face.
“You look amazing!” Raven exclaimed.
“You really think so? You’re not just pulling Merlot’s leg, right?”
Raven took ahold of Merlot by the arms and pulled her closer. She gave Merlot as gentle kiss on the lips. “Of course not. You look like a badass. Shoot, if looks could kill, Seishin would just hand you over the title belt right now.”
Merlot giggled a bit. “Thank you, Raven-chan.”
“Listen to me real quick, okay,” Raven said. “Look, I know this match is important to you. You’ve been training your ass off, you’ve been watching tape, etc. I know that you are ready. And sometimes, I know you have the habit of doubting yourself before a match. But this time, I want you to walk in there without any doubt―no fear Merlot!
“You said that you want this belt. So, go out there and wrestle like you deserve it, alright?”
Merlot stared at her girlfriend for a few moments. She then nodded her head.
“It is time for Merlot to step into her destiny, and truly become great―no fear, hai!”
