The Dojang. One of the more Spartan martial arts gyms in Malibu, but unlike most of the others, Hana prided herself on teaching her students and only putting them forward for their gradings when they were ready and when they were sure of passing. Thinking back to her time in Taekwondo, she earned every single accolade. The gold medals, the trophies. In her weight category, she was the big fish and had always been ever since she'd first stepped onto the mats.
Wrestling had taught her the lesson that her Grandfather always said. There is always a bigger fish. Someone better. Hana knew that well as her wrestling streak had been beaten within months of her official debut; and as she struck away at the suspended bag, the Korean striker was in many places mentally.
Glad to be back on the road, back in the ring... annoyed that she'd choked in a tournament. Not taken the pinfall, but it was the same thing.
“I feel sorry for Ursula going into this one. Seems we both have frustrations to take out on one another when it comes down to it, but as far as we stand at the moment, I've managed to get a tick in the big W column so far. I've also got Coach telling me that I can't let a fecking Argie get the best of me. His words, not mine. Guess he's still sore about Maradonna, but me? I don't give a damn because division in a world is something I know well. North and South in a divide. I have the material and the words, but they are not my own, I do not need someone putting words into my mouth for me.”
One hard elbow strike, the chain rattled as the bag swung from the momentum of the strike.
“Unlike some of the other Gaijin in Seishin, and I am such, though most couldn't tell me apart from someone from Japan or China, I pride myself on my Integrity. I know what I'm paid to do, and it doesn't matter to me if they are a friend or a mutual acquaintance, I always do my best to offer a handshake pre or post match because of how I was trained, but I never let my guard down in case certain individuals, the rare few who I don't get on with and don't trust, try a cheap shot.”
“I look at Ursula though, I see the similarities. That's what I see a lot of, the feeling she won't try and do such a move, so in this I say we go one further. We both want to win, only one of us can do that... but the one thing we can do, is steal the damn show. Just don't expect to get the easy win, war never changes and this battle is of attrition!”
Hana raised a hand and blew a kiss to the camera, before it all flickered away to static.
