The spotlight shines down on center stage, illuminating the faces of a pair used to standing under such bright lights in front of such large crowds. Meiko and Junko stand together once again, both wearing bright, warm smiles while holding their arms upwards in a triumphant pose of victory. Behind them, the faint sound of upbeat music is piped in and playing; attached to their ears are headphone microphones. The spotlight continues to shine as they take their time to address the nation.
“The moment everyone’s been waiting for is happening at last!” Meiko starts things off with a bit of pep.
“After spending so long on our own it is time to come together and shine brighter than before!” And Junko is there to catch the tossed ball.
“PRD TOGETHER AGAIN! As the duo spoke in unison, so too did the lights come up and the energy go from about an eight to well beyond ten; as tends to be the norm when it comes to the two friends.
“Though Junko has another difficult time ahead of her after the malicious assault because she outsmarted a bully, right now we’re focusing on the situation at hand, namely how PRD works great by themselves but when we come together…there’s nothing better!”
“It is reassuring to know that our first official tag team match under the new banner is against people that are angry. Angry people are our ramen and egg; we made a habit out of taking on team after team of angry women and showing them that in the end, it is always happiness and kawaii that wins out.”
“Angry people seems to be all the rage; I’d like to blame it on them being from other countries but that’s a naïve view to take. But this time, it’s probably because our opponents aren’t even a team. I know I’d be upset if I had to team up with someone else.”
“I think Molly is just always angry because she does not dance as well as well as we do. So she has to act tougher to hide the fact that her style of dance only works in American night clubs where dancing is not at all what they do.”
“But what about her partner? Kaya? Is it just me or do too many people think that just because it is a ring that it means it is okay to think of it like a fight club? I wonder if Kaya and Molly will even work together or will be too busy bickering about who is tougher? Molly ‘twerks’ while Kaya…”
“Kaya merks? The point is, they are not a team. And a team can only work if they work together. May and I have been a team since birth and there are not many teams that can claim to have bested PRD.”
So us losing? And against two people that cannot stand each other? That’s…”
“PRD Silly!
