"Saki-chan, how did the shoot go?"
Seishin viewers (and, really, any long time fans of Kotone who have followed her through her career as a bodybuilder) are used to seeing her in clothes that can be kindly categorized as "bodybuilder clothes." Tight yoga pants or tanktops, or sports bras and tight shorts, or any number of other combinations of top and bottom that leave as little of her figure to the imagination as possible.
While a form-hugging dress is not outside of this category, it is certainly a rarity. Tonight it's a black dress with a high neckline but a short hem, with one strap over her right shoulder that is decorated with a black flower. She is dressed this way (apparently) to better match her surroundings, as she is at some sort of social event.
Judging from the slender figure of literally every woman at this event that isn't Kotone, it's likely something not for her, but for her friend.
"Saki-chan" is a tall woman by Japanese standards, and not terribly short even by American standards. She is slender but with radiant brown hair and shining brown eyes and legs that extend far beyond the hem of her emerald dress. There are photos of her all around the room, some in elegant dresses, some in bikinis, some in less in high fashion statement shots.
"It went well enough. I've been getting positive feedback most of the night. A few people are turning noses up at the more...dramatic pieces, but most people enjoy them, and the photographer applauded my willingness to step out of my comfort zone."
Kotone beams at her all the while. I don't think I have to tell you what she thought.
"And you know...you're the one to thank for all this."
Kotone is shaking with joy, or possibly resisting the urge to throw her arms around her. "It's strange to hear you say so."
"It's true though," Saki responds, a slight tinge of color on her cheeks. "If I never meet you, I never think about trying to stand out."
It's Kotone's turn to blush. "Well it's not really about trying to stand out. It's about being who you want to be, regardless of whether that's who society says you should be. If this is what you want to do, then do it, and fuck anybody who says otherwise."
Kotone swearing gets a bit of a murmur, and people start looking towards the pair of them. Saki blushes harder, but Kotone is unphased.
"Did you have to do that?"
"Sorry," Kotone says, embarrassed for Saki's sake.
"It's alright. I'm just glad you didn't crush me during my little speech earlier..."
"No problem. Just remember that you have to keep doing it if you want to, and no other reason."
Saki winks. "Only if you remember, too."
Kotone chuckles. "Thanks. You don't have to worry about me, but I'll keep it in mind."
