Mai is something of an internet celebrity, blogger, vlogger… and amature gravure idol in her native Japan, and even moreso in Europe, where a joke video she posted using cut-outs of the British Monarchy went viral.
She was 18 at the time, and all the international acclaim that came with being a legal-age female who was funny on the internet had a way of warping her perspective and sense of entitlement.
Since then she has enjoyed - and seen fade - the type of fame only the internet can provide a young woman like herself. Luckily being a web personality is only one of Mai’s passions, as she’s also been a trained wrestler for the better part of nine years. Trained at the Josei-Dojo in the ways of joshi puroresu, Mai has a very good grasp of the basics of her craft, but has remain largely undeveloped professionally due to her other projects.
With her star fading and only her die-hard fans still routinely keeping their eye on “Their Waifu”, Mai figures now is not only the time to go back to her other passion in pro-wrestling, but to hopefully use the exposure to fan the flames of interest in her persona again.
Despite her high self-opinion backed up by millions of pageviews and creepy faceless internet fans’ devotion, Mai manages to reel her conceit in and actually be a decent person, by-and-large.
In ring she’s a Show-Woman through-and-through, and often will go to ridiculous lengths to keep attention on her even when she’s trying to grind an opponent out with submissions and intelligent limb work.
