“I don’t know that much about music.”
The spotlight returns and finds Junko standing center stage, this time in her in-ring gear which, interestingly enough, still has the look of a heavily modified school girl uniform. With much more pink and black; and heeled boots.
“Meiko is the music expert of the duo and while I know much about the idol scene outside of that…music is not my strong suite. But Meiko has turned me on to a particular favorite song of hers – it was one of her father’s favorite songs so I guess it’s being passed on.”
The opening riffs of an iconic song play, but cut off shortly before it truly kicks in.
“I don’t need to fight,” Junko speaks in English, “To prove I’m right. I don’t need to be forgiven.”
Another pause and when next Junko speaks it’s back to Japanese.
“To some of you, I’m in the wrong over the last Seishin show. You’ve already made up your minds about me so I won’t waste time in trying to explain things. I know a losing battle when I see it. I’m not asking for forgiveness, all I’m asking is that you take a good look at the match between myself, Cherry-chan and Saito-san.”
“Saito and I will never get along but Cherry and I are friends, like Candi and I. That doesn’t mean this is a handicap match. Cherry, I know you and I have issues with Saito-san, but I’m sorry. I cannot settle this match with another dance off. All I can say is that Saito-san is my priority because, and this is not meant to be hurtful, but Saito-san is my biggest threat in the ring that night. She is intentionally handicapping herself but I am not like her and won’t assume that victory is so easily assured. I’m not arrogant. Cherry, you have improved since we first met but I don’t believe that will be enough. Think of this as advice from Sister June.”
“Cherry, you’re an upbeat kind of girl and nothing will change that. But this match is important to me; it’s important because I know that no matter the outcome somehow I’ll come out looking like the bad person again. Saito will spin it to her favor, that’s what she always does, and by refusing to dance with you that might give you the wrong impression. But that’s the nature of this world. It’s not like the idol world where it’s smiles and laughter. I have to beat Saito. I will beat Saito. And then I have to beat you, Cherry. Not because I want to. But because I have to. Because the PR stands for PuroResu. And it’s time I live up to it.”
“Don’t cry. Don’t raise your eye.”
The rock song pipes through yet again and plays through the fade to black.
