“Burning White” by Crossfaith begins to kick into full force. The lights in the arena dim just a little bit. Pockets of fans begin to cheer throughout the arena.
The camera quickly cuts to a section of the audience, located somewhere close to the entrance ramp. Those fans are decked out in various “Ayano” merch and swag.
As the song’s guitars begin to blare, Merlot Ayano walks out from the back, dressed in her ring attire and a black and silver ring jacket. She peers out at the crowd for a moment before her eyes fixate on the ring. She cracks her neck before making her way down to the ring. Merlot bumps fists and interacts a bit with the “Ayano” section before making it to the base of the ring.
Merlot pats on her kickpads and wipes her boots before sliding into the ring. In the corner, she pulls on the ropes and stretches a bit. She then takes off her ring jacket and lifts up her arms―a portion of the fans cheer. She then goes back to the corner and waits for the bell to ring.

Merlot is a member of the Ayano Clan, however, she is a very distant cousin. She started wrestling when she was 18. She was poised and ready for a great career, that is, until a critical knee injury put her on the sidelines four years later. After healing and rehab, Merlot was cleared to wrestle again; but, she was afraid her knee wouldn't hold up. She walked away from wrestling and pursued a career in modeling.
When it was announced that Puroresu United was going to be starting back up, Merlot starting to get the "itch." Now, she is slowly transitioning back into wrestling. However, things were rocky there. Immediately, she was paired up with two of her cousins. Even though Merlot fought hard, the three were pretty much considered a joke, so much so, that PU sent them off to Europe to wrestle for a sister promotion.
Merlot felt disrespected, therefore, she stepped away from PU. She migrated to the U.S. and moved in with her friend, Kendra Parker. In America, she worked for a company called FFP. She was excited to be able to wrestle in a place that respected her. However, is was wrong about that company as well. FFP signed her, gave her four matches, and then put her on the self.
Feeling disrespected by wrestling as a whole, Merlot got a job in Vegas (where is lives) as a Blackjack dealer.
When she heard Seishin was opening up, she was a bit apprehensive. However, due to its schedule, she decided to give wrestling one last go.
